Hot take: your spray gun is fine, you just need to learn to thin your finish
My old shop mentor in Toledo watched me blame my HVLP gun for a rough coat on a cherry vanity and just shook his head. He grabbed my cup, poured in about 10% more reducer than I ever would have dared, and laid down a coat that looked like glass. So how many of you are out here buying new guns when the real problem is a finish that's too thick to atomize?
