That $450 drill press upgrade was a total scam for my shop
I bought one of those portable drill press stands for my hand drill last month, thinking it would save me time on cabinet hinge holes. Cost me $450 with shipping and it wobbles worse than my freehand drilling. The column flexes every time I push down, so the holes come out crooked on maple ply. I would have been better off buying a used floor model for the same money. Anyone else get burned by those benchtop clamp setups?
