Dropped $120 on a signal amplifier and my internet still dies every night at 8
I live in a old house in Columbus and my WiFi kept crapping out in the back bedroom. So I bought a $120 signal amplifier from the cable company's own store, thinking it would fix everything. Nope. Turns out the issue was a loose coax connector on the outside line, which a tech found after I called and complained for the third time. The amplifier just made the dropouts worse because it was boosting a bad signal. Has anyone else wasted cash on gear before finding the real problem?
