Am I the only one who labels every drop with a paint pen before crimping, not after
Look, I know most of you will say tagging after is faster, but hear me out. I got burned twice in one week on a 60 drop office job in Mesa because I was labeling the faceplates at the end and my notes got scrambled. Now I write the room and port number on the jacket with a Milwaukee paint pen before I even put the connector on. It adds maybe 2 minutes per drop, so like 2 hours on that whole job, but I have not had a single call back in 4 months. The other guy on my crew thinks I'm wasting time and keeps doing it his way, and he's already had to redo two runs. Is it just me or does labeling early save your butt more than anyone admits?
Did the same thing on a 40 drop job last year after getting my notes mixed up once. Writing on the jacket right away saved me so much grief, the extra couple minutes is nothing compared to redoing a run lmao. Your buddy will figure it out after a few more redos.
