Fifteen years ago a CLA on a Nikkormat was $60, now I quote $180 and I get why

Back when I started at the shop in Rochester, a customer could drop off a sticky mirror and pick it up the same week for under $60, and now the same job runs me about 3 hours plus $40 in seals and foam. Part of it is parts drying up, but mostly it is that fewer guys know how to set the timing on these old cloth shutters, so the few of us left are backlogged 5 weeks out. Curious if the old timers here are charging by the hour now or still quoting flat rates on mechanical bodies.
