I repaired a camera during a wedding toast and it was hilarious
I was at a wedding when the photographer's backup camera jammed. I had my repair kit in the car, so I stepped in to help. Using a small screwdriver, I cleared the film advance part right as the best man started speaking. Everyone was watching me instead of the toast! It was funny but also stressful. Have you ever had to make a quick fix in a strange place? What tools do you keep handy for emergencies?

Basic competency now seems like a superpower at social events.

It's not really a superpower, it's just about being ready for weird stuff. My multi-tool lives in my pocket for a reason.

Come on, it's a screwdriver. Fixing a wobbly table is just being a mildly helpful guest, not some heroic act. If that's the bar for a superpower, then remembering to bring napkins to the same barbecue makes you a genius. We're really impressed by the bare minimum now, huh?

Totally! I had my multi-tool at a friend's barbecue last month when a table leg got wobbly. The little screwdriver bit fixed it in seconds (everyone was pretty impressed, honestly). Another time, my coat zipper got stuck and the pliers got it moving again. It's just having the right simple thing when a small problem pops up.
