One review comment changed how I pack my tent stakes forever

Last month a guy on here pointed out that my stake bag weighed over 3 pounds because I carried 12 steel ones for a solo trip in Yosemite. He said to swap half for lightweight aluminum ones and leave the rest in the car. Has anyone else gotten a single piece of feedback that totally shifted their whole gear setup?
