PSA: Those $30 collapsible silicone bowls from the big box store are junk after one season
Bought a set for a two night trip in the Ozarks back in April and both of mine tore at the fold line by June, so I ended up eating cold beans out of a pot lid. If you have found a collapsible bowl that actually holds up past a dozen washes, I would really like to hear it.
Same thing happened to mine, and it was not even the fold line that got me first. The little plastic rim where the bowl meets the top cracked after maybe the fifth wash, and then the whole thing started leaking. I was doing oatmeal in it one morning and looked down and there was a puddle of milk on my camp chair. The whole point of these things is to save space and be tough, and they cannot even make it through a summer. I spent more time worrying about them tearing than I did enjoying my trip. Cheap gear that dies fast is way more expensive than just buying one good thing once.
