Update: the quiet kid in the back of my rhetoric seminar finally spoke up on day 9
We were going around the room arguing about whether a campus speaker should get a fee after an invite got pulled, and he said one sentence about the difference between being silenced and being ignored. I still don't fully buy his take, but it got me to admit I'd been arguing against a version of the other side I made up in my head. Has anyone else had a classmate flip a debate like that on them?
