Watched two guys get dragged online for the same joke, only one got fired, and the difference was 8 minutes
Honestly I fell down a rabbit hole on this one after seeing it play out on X in real time. Two comedians posted basically the same joke about a politician within like 8 minutes of each other during the whole thing going viral. The first guy posted it early, got maybe 40 likes, and nothing happened. The second guy posted it a few hours later when the outrage wave was already rolling and he got a whole campaign against him, lost a gig in Denver, and had to post an apology video. So the joke was the same but the timing and the size of the wave decided everything. Does anyone else think the pile-on math matters more than what was actually said?
