I was dead set on killing Netflix's live reunion shows, then my cousin in Boise said one thing that flipped me
I spent two months in every thread here arguing that live reunion episodes are cheap filler and should get the axe. Then my cousin Dana in Boise pointed out that she and her 14 year old actually sit in the same room for those two hours, which is more than any scripted show gets them. So now I am voting save, but only if they cut the recaps down to 10 minutes. Anyone else change sides on a show because of one person's argument?
The line about her and her 14 year old sitting in the same room for two hours is what gets me, because that is real. My sister has a teenager who barely looks up from his phone, but they watch those live reunions together and actually talk during them. I was in the same camp as you, thought the live stuff was lazy filler and a total waste of a time slot. But hearing that one detail made me rethink it, since there is not much on TV anymore that pulls two people of different ages into one room without a fight. Cutting the recaps to 10 minutes sounds fair to me, maybe even 5. I flipped on a show last year when a coworker told me why she watched it with her mom every week, so yeah, one person can change your whole view.
