Almost lost $60 on a parking app glitch downtown

I was in Austin last weekend and used this parking app to pay for a spot near 6th Street. The app charged my card but the meter didn't register it, so I almost got a $60 ticket. I had to dig through my email to find the receipt and fight with their support for 20 minutes. Now I always take a screenshot of the payment confirmation before I walk away. Anyone else had parking apps mess up like this?

Had a similar thing happen with a parking app in San Diego last fall. I literally had to screenshot the support chat and email it to my bank to get a charge reversed. Now I just carry a roll of quarters in my glovebox for backup, feels like going back in time but at least it works.

Quarters are a hassle though, isn't that just trading one problem for another?
