Can we talk about the bird nest that cost me two hours on a Tuesday job in Dayton
Pulled up to a two-story colonial around 8am, ladder set, rods ready. Got the brush up about four feet and hit something solid. Turned out a starling had packed the flue with twigs and grass and a whole lot of mess. I had to pull the rods back, drop the shop vac hose down from the top to break it loose, and bag it all before I could even start sweeping. Homeowner came out and asked why it was taking so long and I had to explain that her chimney was basically a bird condo. Charged her an extra $85 for the nest removal. How do you all handle the surprise blockages without blowing your whole morning schedule?
