Spent $120 on a dehumidifier for my 400 sq ft studio and it stopped the mold but my electric bill went up $40
Moved into a basement apartment in Seattle back in March and within two weeks everything I owned felt damp. Dropped $120 on a small dehumidifier from Home Depot and it pulled almost a gallon of water out of the air the first day. The mold smell is gone and my towels actually dry now, which is honestly a win. But my power bill jumped from $60 to $100 and I'm sitting here wondering if I just traded one problem for another. Has anyone else dealt with this, is there a cheaper way to keep a damp apartment from turning into a swamp?
