That $80 voice recorder splurge solved my old tape mystery
Last month I dug out my grandpa's 1980s microcassette recorder and a box of tapes, but the built-in speaker was shot. I dropped $80 on a cheap digital voice recorder with a line-in jack just to hear what was on them. Turns out it was 20 minutes of him singing badly in the car and 5 minutes of him complaining about gas prices. Worth every penny for the laugh, but I wish I'd checked my old boombox first since it had a mic input too. Anyone else thrown cash at a gadget just to decode family history?
