Checking my beans before and after a $12 fix and the difference was nuts
My burr grinder was throwing out grounds all over the place for about 3 weeks and I just kept wiping the counter like an idiot. Last Saturday I finally took the hopper off and found a cracked burr ring, so tiny I almost missed it. Swapped in a $12 replacement from the local shop on 5th and the shot pulled in 26 seconds instead of 38. The crema went from a thin tan ring to a thick caramel layer, same beans, same dose, nothing else changed. I had been blaming the roaster for weeks and it was never their fault. Anyone else find their grind was off this whole time and not the coffee itself?
