Appreciation post: the dealer who actually reads the back issues
Hit up a con in Portland last Saturday and this one vendor caught me flipping through a mid-run X-Force lot, then pulled three keys I missed from the same bin without me asking. He even flagged a reprint I almost bought for $12, so I grabbed 14 issues for $60 total. Anyone else got a shop that treats browsing like a proper conversation?
Wait, so he pulled the keys from the same bin you were already flipping through? That's wild, most dealers just let you miss stuff or overprice it. Did he give you a story on any of the issues, like why he remembered they were in there, or was he just that dialed in? I've had a guy at a flea market do something similar but he only saved me from a fake, not three actual keys, so I'm curious if this Portland dude had a system or just knew his stock that well.
