Paid $30 for a polybagged 90s issue, guess what was inside
Picked up a sealed 1993 Spider-Man issue at a shop in Portland for $30, thinking it was a rare find. Opened it at home and realized it was just a reprint with a sketchy foil sticker, not the original. Compared it side by side with my buddy's copy from the same run, and the paper quality and colors were totally off. Comic shops that shrinkwrap old stock can hide damage or swaps, so always ask to open before buying or check the barcode area for reprint marks. Anyone else get burned by sealed back issues that turned out to be duds?
