Shoutout to reading comics out of order on purpose
Everyone I know swears you gotta read a run from issue one or you're lost. But I started a random 90s X-Men annual at a used book store last month with no clue what was happening and honestly it got me more hooked than any starting point. The mystery of figuring out the characters through context made the whole thing feel like a puzzle, not homework. Am I the only one who finds jumping into the middle of a story more fun than starting at the beginning?

Ha, right? Half the fun is playing detective with the art and dialogue to piece together who's a villain and who's just grumpy. It's like starting a movie twenty minutes in, you get the good stuff first and fill in the backstory later. Way more engaging than slogging through five issues of setup just to get to the part where the characters actually do something interesting.

I get the appeal, but I actually like those five issues of setup to feel invested in why the villain's grumpy in the first place.
