Hot take: PSU testers can't see bad caps...

This system kept rebooting, and my tester showed all good readings... I finally spotted a swollen capacitor on the board after pulling it out. Do you guys still do manual inspections even when testers say everything's okay?

Seriously, my tester said all clear, yet a quick look found a bulging capacitor, can you believe it?

But what if the tester only checks continuity? A bulging cap might still pass until it fails.

How many times have you seen tools miss what's obvious to the eye? This happens in so many areas, from cars to home appliances. It's why I always trust a look over a readout.

That's exactly what @seanbailey means about trusting your eyes over a tool.
