Wired a whole job with keystone jacks instead of punchdown patch panel, huge difference
Just finished a 24 port network job in a law office over on 5th street. I normally use a punchdown patch panel, been doing it that way for 8 years. This time I tried keystone jacks in a blank panel because the client wanted to be able to move ports around later. Total game changer. Punchdown took me almost 3 hours last time I did a job this size. The keystone setup took me 70 minutes start to finish. The best part was troubleshooting. When one run tested bad, I just popped the keystone out and swapped it in 30 seconds instead of re punching a whole port. I still keep punchdown panels for tight closets where space matters, but for anything over 12 ports I'm going keystone every time now. Anyone else made this switch or do you still swear by punchdown?
