TIL a $45 tool that sprays release agent cost me $600 in rework on a patio pour
Back in the day we just used a pump sprayer and some old motor oil and it worked fine on most jobs. Last spring I got talked into one of those fancy air powered sprayers at the supply house in Fort Worth and figured it would save me time on a big patio job. Ran it on a 22 by 30 slab and the stuff went on so thin the mud stuck to the forms in about nine spots. Spent two extra days patching and grinding and lost $600 on the job plus a headache. Now I'm back to the cheap pump sprayer and checking my mix every half hour. Has anyone found a sprayer that puts out a real coat without costing a fortune?
