Update: dropped $310 on a used Whiteman power trowel, turned a 3 day slab into 6 hours, or did I just get lucky?

Bought it off a guy in Rockford who was retiring, and the first pour with it went smooth as glass, but my old partner swears hand troweling gives you better control on edges. Anyone here go machine over hand and regret it, or is this one a keeper?
