Can we talk about that $200 night vision gadget from the flea market in Phoenix
I bought this cheap night vision monocular from a guy near the 27th Ave swap meet, swore it would be perfect for spotting coyotes behind my place. It worked okay for like 10 minutes, then the screen just went green static and the battery door cracked off. I messaged the seller and he straight up said, 'no returns on optics, that's the deal.' I mean, maybe it's just me but if you're paying for a tool to see in the dark, it should last longer than one trip to the bathroom. Has anyone else got burned on those portable surveillance deals or did I just pick the worst vendor in Phoenix?

Honestly I see it different. You bought a $200 night vision unit from a flea market. That's not a tool, that's a gamble. Real night vision gear that's worth a damn starts at way more than that and lasts more than a few trips outside. The fact the seller said no returns is sketchy but not surprising, those guys are all cash and carry for a reason. I mean, what did you expect from a dude set up near the swap meet with a pile of optics? The battery door cracking off tells me the housing was cheap plastic from the start. I'd be mad too, but the real lesson is that cheap surveillance stuff is usually made to fail fast. You didn't pick the worst vendor in Phoenix, you just picked the wrong price point.
