My aunt in Phoenix keeps 9 containers of the same chili in her freezer, so is batch cooking genius or just boredom?
I stayed with her last week and watched her make one giant pot of chili on Sunday, then eat the exact same bowl 5 nights straight, which made me wonder if we're all just fooling ourselves that leftovers taste better when we freeze 8 identical meals instead of cooking fresh twice a week, so tell me where you land on this.

Did she grow up poor or during a time when food was tight? My grandma did the same thing with soup and I always figured it was a leftover habit from when wasting food felt like a real sin, not a choice. Maybe it's not genius or boredom at all, just a deep groove some people never climb out of.
