Just found out hair color classes are basically a scam in my state

Checked the state board regs after 8 years in the chair and apprenticing under someone who never verified my hours, turns out 500 of my 1500 logged training hours could've been self study the whole time. Has anyone else run into this or am I the last one to read the fine print?
