Skip the $600 lube pump kit, mine seized on job 4

I bought one of those auto greaser setups last month, ran it on my Liebherr for 4 lifts, and the gear stripped out because the cold weather made the grease too thick. I'm back to hand greasing every morning, anyone else have these pumps fail below 40 degrees or was I just unlucky?

The shop cat knocked a can of grease off the shelf last winter and it froze solid before I noticed. Thing bounced like a hockey puck. Took a heat gun and twenty minutes just to get it back to liquid. Makes me wonder if these auto pumps are just too fancy for anyone who works in a real climate.
