TIL how much a bent jib chord pin can change your whole pick plan
Last Tuesday on a job in Corpus Christi I pulled the jib off our 60 ton because one chord pin was bent just enough that the jib wouldn't lock true, and the pick chart for that setup dropped by nearly 1,800 lbs at radius. The rigging crew had been planning a 9,400 lb spreader lift at 40 ft all week, so we had to redo the whole plan and bring in a bigger rig the next morning. How do you all handle it when the chart you built the lift around goes soft on you the day before?
