That new coffee shop's story hour isn't sparking creativity.

The ongoing debate over bike lanes would make a richer writing prompt.

On my local subreddit, there was a big fight about bike lane plans on Oak Avenue. People argued over parking, safety, and how tax money is used. I read one post that mentioned a report on fewer traffic deaths with bike lanes, but others said it cost too much. That real world drama has tons of angles for writing. You could make up a story from a driver, a cyclist, a store owner, or even the mayor. It beats a coffee shop reading that's usually pretty tame.

My town had a huge fight over bike lanes on Maple Street last year. Exactly what @the_andrew is talking about, it got so heated. We had people yelling at town hall meetings about losing parking spots and how it would hurt small businesses. The local paper even ran a story where the fire chief worried about emergency vehicle access. It's wild how these local issues can turn into full-on dramas with so many sides.

I mean, @the_andrew nailed it, use bike lane fights for stories.

You think the bike lane committee argues more than they actually plan the lanes? lmao
