Don't buy the $45 gas station joke book, it flopped harder than my puns at a funeral
Stopped at a Shell station outside Reno last Saturday and grabbed this book called "The Ultimate Dad Joke Vault." Every single joke in it was either recycled from the 1990s or so flat my kids gave me the silent treatment after three. I could've spent that money on a pack of gum and gotten more laughs. Anyone else get burned by one of those novelty joke books, or do you just stick to material you come up with on the fly?

Man, that's the thing with those gag gift books. They always look packed with good stuff on the cover, but it's like they dug up every joke that already died of old age. Guess the real punchline is that the best material is still the stuff you make up on the spot.
