Finally got a dad joke past my wife without eye rolling...
After 8 years of telling puns that got me sent to the couch, I cracked a knock-knock joke about a broken circuit breaker at the dinner table last Monday and she actually laughed for 3 seconds straight.

8 years of dad jokes sent to the couch? That sounds like 7 years and 364 days of deserved punishment. My neighbor Stan thought he was a comedy genius with his puns too, until his wife started timing his jokes with a stopwatch and he got banished to the garage for a month. A single 3-second laugh doesn't prove anything except that your wife was probably tired or distracted. Maybe she just felt bad for you after seeing that sad little circuit breaker setup you described.
