that many options usually means the whole thing is broken somehow" - yeah, exactly. I've been saying this for years. When an app gives you like 50 matches in a day, something is off. Either they're flooding you with bots or they just want you to swipe forever and never actually talk to anyone. It's like they designed it to keep you stuck in the app instead of actually meeting people. The whole point of these apps is to connect people, not drown you in notifications. So when that happens, I normally just delete the app for a week and come back later.

oh i actually just listened to a podcast about this, apparently the algorithms can go haywire if you swipe too much in a short time. idk, maybe it's just me but that many matches sounds more exhausting than exciting honestly
