Hit 100 matches on Hinge and only one real date
I just hit 100 matches on Hinge after about 3 months, which felt like a big deal. But when I looked back, I've only actually gone on one date from all of them. Most chats just die after a few messages, or they ghost when you try to set something up. It makes you wonder what the point of the number even is. Has anyone else had a huge gap between matches and actual meetups?

Yeah, that's rough. I had the same thing happen and just started asking to grab a drink way sooner in the chat, like within 10 messages. @faith_hart20 has a point about filtering, but you gotta push to meet up fast or it fizzles. What's your usual move for trying to set up a date?

My first year on the apps I had maybe two hundred matches and zero dates. I figured more matches meant I was doing better. Now I see it like faith_hart20, it's just a big list of maybes. The one date you got is the whole point, the rest are just noise.

Honestly that's a pretty solid conversion rate for online dating. One real date out of a hundred matches means you're actually filtering people out instead of wasting time on bad fits. Think about it, how many of those 99 other conversations were with people you'd actually want to share a meal with? The number isn't pointless, it's a pool to pull from. You only need one good one to make it work.
