My zero-effort bio outdid my carefully written one
Spent a week crafting the perfect profile with jokes and hobbies. Got maybe 2 matches. Switched it to just "I make a decent grilled cheese and I have a library card" and doubled my matches in 3 days. Anyone else find that lower effort works better?

Whoa, that's wild but honestly makes total sense to me. The grilled cheese and library card thing is so specific and weird that it feels real, you know? Like your long bio probably sounded like every other guy trying too hard. But quick question, do you think it's the actual content that's working, or is it just that people see something short and don't have to put in any effort to read it? Because I'm wondering if your matches would've doubled even if you wrote something totally random like "I own a spoon" or if it really needs to have that little personality kick. Cause tbh, half the battle on these apps is just being a breath of fresh air compared to everyone else's paragraph-long essays about hiking and tacos.
