Took 5 hours to realize my deepfake detector was flagging my own webcam

Set up a deepfake scanner to check a suspicious video a friend sent me, but it kept tripping on my own face in the corner of the screen. Took me 5 hours of tweaking settings in my Chicago apartment before I noticed the browser tab had my camera on. Has anyone else chased a false positive that was just your own mug staring back?

Chasing a false positive that was just your own mug" is such a perfect way to put it. But honestly, how did you not notice the little red dot or the camera light on your laptop for five whole hours?
