That deleted Reddit post about archiving old AIM chats saved my grandma's blog posts
I was digging through a dead forum from 2009 looking for a recipe my mom posted, and the whole thread vanished right as I clicked it. Tried the Wayback Machine but it missed that page, so I was stuck until I remembered a comment I saw weeks ago in this community about backing up via Google cache. I pulled the cached version before it got purged, and it had the full text plus a screenshot of the recipe. Anyone else have a trick for grabbing stuff that's already half-deleted before it's fully gone?

Waited too long and lost a whole photo album from my cousin's wedding site that way, the host wiped everything like two days after the domain lapsed. What blows my mind is that Google cache grabbed it but the Wayback Machine straight up missed it, you'd think the bigger name would catch more stuff. I've started saving pages to my phone as PDFs the second I find something worth keeping, since nothing online is safe. That recipe rescue is a win though, hope your mom's cooking lives up to the hype.
