Warning: Those 'deleted tweet' archive sites are quietly editing the screenshots
I noticed last Tuesday that a famous account's removed post about a city council vote in Austin now shows different wording than what I saved in my own backup folder. The archive site had swapped out a key sentence and nobody flagged it for two days until I cross-checked the original HTML. How do we trust these archives when the people running them can just rewrite history without a changelog?

My grocery store did this last year with a sale price on a sign, changed it mid week and the old photo on my phone was suddenly "wrong" and I had no way to prove it. Same thing with my apartment lease portal, maintenance requests I filed got edited after the fact. The lesson I keep learning is that whoever controls the file controls the story, so you have to keep your own receipts.
