Took me 3 weeks just to get city permits for our downtown Detroit pop-up
I thought having a solid business plan and location locked in would speed things up, but the city's permitting office lost our paperwork twice before we even got a response. Has anyone else dealt with that kind of delay from the city planning department?

It's like they think losing documents is part of the job description. But it's not just city offices, it's everything these days. You call customer service for a refund and they transfer you three times. You need a doctor's appointment and they tell you to wait six months. It's like nobody can just get the basics done anymore without hitting a wall of wasted time and excuses. Makes you wonder if any of these systems were actually designed to help people, or just to make us jump through hoops.

Read somewhere that half the city's permit applications get lost on purpose just to slow things down.
