Looking at old forum posts from 2015 about Bitcoin

I was digging through an archive of a crypto forum from back then. I saw a post where someone said they sent 10 Bitcoin to a friend just to test the network, and the fee was basically zero. That's over half a million dollars today just for a test transaction. It's wild how much the simple act of moving money has changed since then, with all the rules and costs now. What's the smallest amount you'd feel okay sending on-chain these days without worrying about the fee?

Half a million for a test" is crazy. I wouldn't send less than $100 now.

Actually, the average on-chain fee is way under a dollar right now.

I read an article that said the average on-chain fee makes anything under $50 not worth it. That feels about right to me now, which is a real shame. The whole point gets lost when moving small amounts is too expensive.
