Blew $60 on a waterproof phone pouch before realizing my phone already had one built in
I was at the lake near Austin last summer and bought this heavy duty dry bag for my phone so I could take underwater pics. Spent a whole afternoon sealing it up and getting the air out every time. Then my buddy Marcus just walks right into the water with his phone out and I'm like dude what are you doing. Turns out my iPhone 12 has been IP68 rated this whole time and I never checked. Anyone else buy a gadget that your device already had built in?

Reese licking it is the only real way to find out.

Huh, I gotta respectfully disagree here. Licking tech might work for some stuff like testing a 9V battery, but for a phone or tablet? That's asking for trouble. Saliva has all kinds of minerals and acids that can mess with the charging port or even corrode the screen coating over time. Plus, if the device is actually water resistant, you're just putting moisture where it shouldn't be. Your mileage may vary, but I'd stick to a simple visual check or the manufacturer's specs.
