Clipped my drip line with the weed eater, DIY fix held for 2 months now
Last month I was in a hurry and sliced right through the main drip line near my flower bed in the backyard. Water was pooling, plants looked sad. I grabbed a coupler and some hose clamps from Lowe's for like 8 bucks, cut the damaged piece clean, and pushed it together. It's been holding steady through two heat waves so far. Anyone else had luck with temporary fixes that just stuck around longer than planned?

Staring at my screen trying to wrap my head around that. Two heat waves and it's still holding? That's wild. I did the same thing last fall with a sprinkler head, but mine popped off within a week because I didn't tighten the clamp enough. You must have gotten that coupler on just right. Honestly, if it's survived that long, I'd say you're not fixing it until it breaks again. That's the rule in my book anyway.

Man, that's the thing with these push-fit couplers, they either grab on perfect or they don't. I've had the same luck as you, one little angle off and it's popping loose the next week. But once you get that satisfying click and it seats all the way, it's basically welded on there. I stopped messing with it after the first month, honestly. Now I just give it a wiggle test every time I water the lawn, just to make sure it's still snug. If it's survived two heat waves and a freeze or two, that bond is permanent in my eyes too.
