PVC glue vs. old school copper, I switched sides last month
Used to swear by copper pipe for every repipe around here, but after my second slab leak in 3 years I started using PEX and those crimp rings with the $60 tool, plus a torque gauge so I know the connection is good. Turns out the dirt and hard water in Amarillo eats copper from the inside out way faster than the plastic holds up, I just did a 1,200 square foot house off Georgia Street and the customer's water bill dropped $40 a month. Anyone else ditch copper for pex on their own place and see the same kind of result?
