Pro tip: That $20 chimney brush from Amazon almost cost me a house fire

Wait, hold on, @the_terry said something about the pro section stuff? I had a buddy who tried one of those cheap contractor packs and man, he said the same thing happened to him. He was cleaning out his fireplace flue and the bristles started coming off like crazy. He spent the next two hours with a magnet trying to fish all those little wire bits out of his chimney liner. He swore it was a nightmare and said he'd never buy anything but the name brand ones again. I dunno, maybe the pro section ones are better but after hearing his story I'd be too nervous to try any of the cheap stuff.

Showerthought: My bank's fraud alert saved me $450 on a fake pizza order

Must be the same folks who buy thousand dollar sneakers they're scared to step in. My broke self would need a loan and a prayer to even look at that menu. Guess someone out there has more money than sense, and I'm just jealous.

Picked up a used Festool Domino at a estate sale in Austin last month

Estate sales are gold mines for Festool stuff if you get there early enough.

My buddy's comment about pacing ruined The Wire for me

Oh man, I feel that. But I've been noticing that a lot of stuff these days kind of pushes you to just slow down and actually pay attention instead of scrolling by. It's like the world is trying to get us to stop and breathe for a second.

A moment of panic when my presentation file got corrupted right before a client meeting

Had a similar thing happen last year with a training deck for a big client. The file got corrupted 30 minutes before I had to present and I had to just talk through the main points from memory. Turns out the client was way more engaged because they had to actually listen instead of reading slides. Now I always keep a stripped down backup version just in case, it's saved me twice since then.
