My Reddit account got axed for commenting in a sub about alternative medicine

I posted a story about how my aunt in Phoenix beat her chronic migraines with magnesium supplements instead of prescription meds. The mods said I was giving medical advice but I was literally just sharing what worked for her old school neurologist. I'm not saying ditch doctors, but why is personal experience treated like it's dangerous? Anyone else get hit for sharing something that helped you or someone close to you?

I posted on a big gardening forum that my $15 hand trowel from the hardware store has lasted me 8 years through 3 different gardens. Some folks got really upset and said I was promoting cheap junk that would break. I tried to explain that I just clean it after each use and store it inside, not out in the shed. They called me a troll and banned me within an hour. But honestly, isn't the whole point of gardening to work with what you've got and not buy into all the marketing hype? Has anyone else gotten pushback for recommending budget solutions in hobby communities?

I finally took that harsh critique about my soap labels to heart

I sell handmade soap at a local market here in Portland, and I posted a picture of my new label design on a soapmaking forum last month. One person basically said my font choice looked like a funeral home flyer and the colors were muddy. I was super defensive at first (seriously, I spent 3 hours on that design). But then I looked at other sellers' labels and realized mine did look kinda sad and hard to read from a distance. So I switched to a bold sans-serif font and bright orange accents, and sales actually went up about 40% at the last Saturday market. Has anyone else gotten feedback that stung at first but ended up being the best thing for your work?

I spent 3 months trying both at once and nearly lost my mind. Finally ditched the digital one after I missed a dentist appointment because my phone died at 3%. Has anyone else found one system just works better for your brain?

Tried posting a 3D scan of my local park lake on Google Maps and got flagged as spam within 10 minutes.

Took me 6 hours to get the scan right with my phone in Seattle rain, and they banned my account for sharing "sensitive location data" - it's a public lake with ducks. Has anyone else had Google shut down totally harmless stuff like that?

I fell for a $150 meal kit subscription and regretted every bite

Signed up for a fancy meal kit service last month thinking it'd save me time, but half the ingredients went bad before I could cook them. Lost $150 in three weeks on stuff I tossed in the trash. Has anyone else had better luck with one of these things?

Last Tuesday I posted in a gardening sub about using roundup on poison ivy along my fence line in Austin, and within 2 hours I was permanently banned. The mod said I was promoting dangerous chemicals, but I explained I only spot-treated 15 feet of overgrown weeds that were hurting my kids. Has anyone else been shut down for talking about practical uses of stuff the internet hates?
