Got silenced on a neighborhood app for saying the crossing guard at 5th and Main was right to stop my truck
Two weeks ago I posted on a local town app in Franklin about something small that got me blocked within an hour. I was driving my route on 5th Street near the elementary school and a crossing guard held up her hand while a mom jogged across with a stroller, maybe 15 seconds. The guy behind me laid on his horn the whole time. When we finally rolled forward he pulled up next to me and yelled that she had no right to stop traffic for one person. I told him she had every right and he could wait 15 seconds. I posted that story basically saying he was wrong and boy did that app light up. Three people said I was "flexing" and one woman said crossing guards only direct kids, not adults. My comment got taken down for being "uncivil" and I got a 7 day mute. What got me was they never addressed whether the guard was actually right, only that I said it too blunt. Is there a rule somewhere about who a crossing guard can legally stop for, or did I just get burned by the tone police?
