Unpopular opinion: my diploma from a 2 year school got me further than my buddy's 4 year degree
He graduated from a big state school in 2021 with $38k in loans and I finished at the local tech college with $6k, and two years later I'm making $7 more an hour than him doing the same IT helpdesk work. Anyone else think the whole 4 year or bust thing is oversold?
Why do we keep telling kids they have to go into massive debt to get a good job? Your setup sounds way smarter, same work and way less money owed. That loan payment alone is probably eating a chunk of his check every month.
