inTIL a simple change in how I clean shutter blades made a huge difference
Honestly the brush size debate misses the point a bit for me. It's all about the paint mix being thin enough to flow. A 10/0 liner holds almost no paint, so you're forced to use a super watery mix, and that's what actually gets into the tiny track grooves. A bigger brush with the same runny mix would work too, you'd just have to be more careful. The brush is just the delivery method, the paint consistency is the real trick.

inTried that 'mortar slush' trick on a chimney rebuild last month
Had the exact same fight with myself on a patio job last summer. Watched the mortar just turn to dust on contact with a dry brick. Started doing the quick dip like smith.parker said, and it was a total game changer. That little bit of slurry is like putting a barrier on the brick so your mix stays workable. Makes the whole process less of a race against the clock when the sun's beating down.

inSpent 4 hours trying to prove a video of my mayor was fake before I found the original clip from a 2018 news segment.
I used to just watch a video and take it at face value. After getting burned by a fake clip of a football player last year, I started checking the upload date like jana881 said. It's saved me from sharing so much dumb stuff.

inI finally stopped using a single knife for all my prep work.
Right? It's wild how one small tool change can fix a whole job. What other kitchen tools did you think were fine until you tried the RIGHT version? I had that with a microplane. Used a box grater for lemon zest forever and just made a mess. The microplane feels like a totally different skill.

inMy buddy sent me a fake video of our old coach last week and I totally fell for it
Am I the only one who'd probably fall for my own deepfake?
