That one weird trick for fixing a squeaky floor without ripping up carpet

So I had this spot in my hallway near the bathroom that squeaked every time you stepped on it. Drove me nuts for like 6 months. I tried a bunch of stuff: baby powder, screws from the crawlspace, even those expensive floor repair kits from Home Depot. Nothing worked. Then I remembered something from a forum post about using a syringe to inject wood glue directly into the seam. Picked up a 10-pack of syringes at Tractor Supply for about 8 bucks. Mixed up some Titebond III, stuck the needle right through the carpet backing into the subfloor gap, and pumped it in. Let it dry for 24 hours and it hasn't made a peep since. Has anyone else tried this or found a different trick for tricky spots?

Yeah every home fix ends up being a gamble between genius cleanup and a visit from an electrician.

My cat stepped on that exact spot at 3am and I swear I nearly dropped my coffee when it didn't squeak. Syringe trick is legit but man, you gotta be CAREFUL where you poke. I accidentally injected glue straight into a power cord once, had to replace half the hallway wiring. Also Tractor Supply for syringes is genius, I paid triple that at a medical supply store for the same plastic junk.

Jump right in with the syringe trick but now I see this same pattern everywhere. It's like how @jamief67 said it's always a gamble between genius and disaster. I noticed at my buddy's house he fixed a rattling washing machine by stuffing a cut up pool noodle under it and it worked perfectly. But then last week I tried the same idea on my dryer and it just melted into a sticky mess that smelled like a campfire. Every hack works until it doesn't and you discover there's a whole hidden world of consequences you didn't think about. That's just how DIY life goes though you win some you melt some.

Wait, is it really that deep though? I mean it's a squeaky floor, not a ticking bomb lol. Like yeah it's annoying but you're drilling into a power cord when a piece of rug tape could've just fixed it.
