The gap under my laundry room door shrank from 3 inches to a quarter inch after I swapped the jam out
Took me 4 weekends and 2 trips to Lowe's because I kept buying the wrong pre-hung unit, but now the cats can't squeeze under it anymore and my dryer lint pile has dropped by half, has anyone else fought a hollow-core door that was cut crooked from the factory?
Man, I feel this in my soul! I once spent an entire weekend wrestling a closet door that was somehow both too tall and too crooked, ended up shaving the bottom with a hand plane until it looked like a beaver had attacked it (the door, not the plane). The gap ended up being perfect for the cats to stick their paws through but not their heads, which honestly just made them angrier. I finally gave up and hung a curtain rod over the inside, now it's a fancy flap door for them and a lint trap for me. Congrats on the quarter inch, that's basically a win in my book.
