Looked up the training data size for one AI art model and felt sick

Found out some models are trained on like 5 billion images scraped without asking, and I couldn't stop thinking about all those artists whose work got fed in without a cent or a credit... Has anyone actually gotten a fair payout from one of these things, or is it always just a fight?
